Local lad Harry joined CMC in Bridgnorth as an apprentice in 2017 having learnt turning on lathes, milling, bench fitting and welding at the Telford College of Arts and Technology. When he finished there were no motoring apprenticeships available, so he took up an apprenticeship with a company making workwear.

But he kept looking, and after finding CMC on the Stanhope business Park not far from where he lived, and seeing a line up of restored classics outside, he turned up and handed in his CV. The company was impressed, even more so when he was interviewed. He was taken on and was thrown in at the deep end joining an apprentice team working on a 1954 Lancia Aurelia. He was soon appointed the project’s team leader and ran the project so well that he was then handed a series 1 4.2 E-Type that had a colour change and some modern modifications such as a cup holder, led lights and parking sensors.

Harry has also completed light vehicle maintenance and is in the middle of a Heritage Engineering (Vehicles) Apprenticeship course at the Marches Centre of Manufacturing & Technology.

“Always with a smile on his face, eager to learn, hands on, and now producing high quality work of his own to an impressive standard, Harry has a great future ahead of him and we are proud to call him a CMC apprentice.”
