National coach-building apprenticeship announced.

Updated: Apr 19, 2021

Coach-building apprentices at the Heritage Skills Academy.

From April 2020, the Heritage Skills Academy will be delivering a national Coachbuilding Apprenticeship Programme from its world-class Academy based at Bicester Heritage. This is in response to the increasing demand for high quality apprenticeship programmes from Heritage employers.

  • 24 apprenticeship places are available from 10th February 2020

  • 12 commencing April

  • 12 commencing June

The apprenticeship is a blend of ‘old-school skills’ and knowledge combined with cutting edge technology. It will cover all traditional aspects of coachbuilding and paint (in association with Glasurit).

The programme format is based on the successful Mechanical Heritage Engineering Apprenticeship established in August 2018, which now has over 70 apprentices working in the UK’s top restoration companies.

HSA will:

  • Visit your company to discuss your requirements

  • Provide an overview of course content

  • Advertise, initial interview and shortlist high quality applicants

  • Organise trials and apprenticeship starts
